About Loans

1. What do we loan against?

We loan against any Gold jewellery (e.g. necklace, rings, earrings, bracelet, pendants, charms). Jewellery containing platinum, diamonds are also accepted.

2. What other things we loan against?

We accept gold coins/sovereigns, watches loose diamonds and gem stones, pen nibs, cuff links and much more. For a full list please click here.

3. What we do NOT loan against?

We do not accept any fashion jewellery, silver, pearls, precious stones, crystals, emeralds, rubies and sapphires.

4. What kind of watches do we accept?

We accept most of the luxury watches like Cartier, Rolex, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Chopard, Audemars Piguet, and Gucci. We do not accept other brands like Armani and D&G.

5. What is the minimum value of item(s), we will loan against?

Item(s) that has a resale value more than £100.00 (The resale value is the value at which the item is sold in the open market, not how much it cost to buy new.)

6. Do we loan against broken, incomplete, old or out of fashion item(s)?

We loan on the basic of the weight and quality of Gold. Details like the number of Item(s), state of the Item and various other minute details are recorded after receiving your Item(s).

7. How will you send your item(s) to us?

Cashier Pawnbrokers shall ship you the basic packaging materials which comprise of a padded envelope and the Royal Mail Special Delivery tamper proof bag.

8. How much is the shipping cost?

The Royal Mail Special Delivery tamper proof bag is pre paid by us. The Royal Mail Special Delivery Service provides insurance cover for loss or damage to Your Property in transit up to a market replacement value of £2500. If you think the market replacement value of your goods is more than £2500, it is your sole responsibility to take out additional insurance if you wish to arrange insurance cover for that part of the market replacement value which exceeds £2500. If you choose to dispatch goods of a replacement value exceeding £2500 via the pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery Service without arranging any additional insurance cover, you agree that you are doing this at your own risk, and that you will have no claim on us and/or the Royal Mail for any amount exceeding £2500 of the replacement value of any goods lost, damaged or devalued in any way in the course of the Royal Mail Special Delivery Service.

9. What if your item(s) value more than £2500.00?

If you choose to dispatch goods of a replacement value exceeding £2500 via the pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery Service without arranging any additional insurance cover, you agree that you are doing this at your own risk, that you will have no claim on us and/or the Royal Mail for any amount exceeding £2500 of the replacement value of any goods lost, damaged or devalued in any way in the course of the Royal Mail Special Delivery Service.

10. How safe is your item(s)?

All parcels sent through 'Royal Mail Special Delivery' are fully insured. Your parcel can be tracked via the Internet with a signature obtained upon delivery, and this service is very safe and secure.

11. How can you send your item(s) to us?

Please ensure that your items are securely and appropriately packaged. Please take the Package to the nearest Post Office and make sure that you obtain and retain a receipt for shipping from the shipping agent.

Loan Details

1. How much can we lend you?

Our valuation for your gold will be based on the London Gold Fix price applicable when we receive your items. We will then email or telephone you with an offer for your gold and that offer will be valid for 24 hours from the time that email was sent by us or from the time that we contact you by telephone.

2. How is interest calculated?

Interest is calculated and applied monthly to the loan on the day of signing the agreement at the beginning of each contract month. For full details of our rates including interest charges please click here.

3. How will you receive the loan?

Once your gold has been valued and you accepted the offer, payment can be made in one of the following ways:

  • Bank Transfer
  • Postal order
  • Cheques
  • Western Union
  • Cash (Customer pays Insurance max cost £6.00)

4. What if you wish to decline the loan offer?

If you decide NOT to accept our offer for your gold, your items will be returned to you free of charge, fully insured by Royal Mail Special delivery Service.

5. Do you need to pay anything, while sending your item(s)?

No. The Royal Mail Special Delivery tamper proof bag is pre paid by us.

6. What proof of Identification do we need?

We only need copies of one proof of photo id. (e.g. - Valid Passport, Driving License), One proof of home address dated within the last three months. (e.g. - Any utility bill: Council Tax, Electricity, Gas, Bank Statement or Credit Card Statements.)

7. Why do we need your Identification?

We need to confirm your Identification to comply with money laundering regulations. Identity verification is the process of testing customer characteristics during the customer acquisition process to prevent fraud and underage customers.

8. How safe is your personal information?

We maintain highly secured network systems. Extra measures are taken to protect security and confidentiality of your personal data. Only Cashier Pawnbrokers and Cashier Gold have access to your personal information.

10. What are our Business Hours?

Monday-Friday: 9:30am - 5:30pm

Saturday: 10:30am - 5:30pm

Any queries or requests reported on Bank holidays and Sundays will be dealt on the next available working day.

11. How is your item(s) evaluated?

Our prices are based on the London Gold Fix price for gold which is set at 10:30am and 3pm daily. Our valuation for your gold will be based on the London Gold Fix price applicable when we receive your items.

12. How can you track your item(s)?

Please obtain and retain a receipt for shipping from the shipping agent. The tracking number is given on the receipt. You can track your item by visiting www.royalmail.com delivery page.

13. When will you receive your loan?

Loan payments by Bank transfer, postal orders, cheques, Western Union or cash deliveries will be made immediately once we have received your items and the formal credit agreement has been returned to us.

14. What if you do not have a bank account?

Do not worry. Either through cash, postal orders or western union, the loan process will be completed.

15. What do I do if my parcel is lost in transit?

All parcels sent through "Royal Mail Special Delivery" are fully insured. Your parcel can be tracked via the internet with a signature obtained upon delivery, and this service is very safe and secure. If your item is lost whilst in transit then please contact Royal Mail direct.

16. How can I redeem my loan?

The maximum available loan period is 7 months. At any time, you may settle the loan and the interest will be calculated and applied to give you a settlement figure, interest is calculated and applied monthly to the loan on the day of signing the agreement at the beginning of each contract month. If you redeem your pledge early, interest will be charged to the end of the contract month period in which you redeem. A contract month means the period of a month commencing on the date of a signed electronic loan agreement. The APR details are mentioned on all confirmed loan offers. 17. How can I renew my loan?

You have up to 7 months to renew your loan. Simply pay off the interest accrued and we can extend your loan for another 7 months. Alternatively you can reduce your interest payments by paying off a proportion of your capital sum. For further info on renewals please click here.

18. What will happen when you do not redeem your Item(s) on or before the expiry of the loan agreement?

If you do not redeem your property on expiry of the loan agreement, we may recover our expenses from the proceeds of sale of the property. An article not redeemed within the redemption period becomes the Cashier Pawnbrokers property. In any other case it may be sold by Cashier Pawnbrokers.
